I like for you to be still 是智利诗人聂鲁达（Pablo Neruda）的一首爱情诗 ， 出自《二十首情诗与绝望的歌》 ， 他凭此作品获得诺贝尔文学奖 。 这首诗其中多数内容直接表达了诗人喜爱恋人的沉默与安静 ， 但最后却显露出诗人想打破这种沉静的愿望：哪怕是一个字 ， 一个眼神 ， 让我知道你不是真的死了 ， 或者说 ， 让我知道你爱我 ， 这样我就会幸福 。 因而此诗在表达诗人的爱恋的同时 ， 重在表现了诗人渴望得到恋人的回应 。

本诗用夸张的类比使诗的内容乍一看有些难以理解 ， 但我们都能体会诗中氤氲着的淡淡的忧伤 ， 再仔细分析我们不难发现诗中的含义 。 诗中把恋人的沉静类比成消失 ， 离去 ， 甚至死亡这样令人忧伤和焦虑的事物 ， 过分强烈地突出了恋人的沉默 。 这种过分意在表现恋人对自己的不理不睬令诗人非常忧伤和焦虑 。 但是诗人深爱着他的恋人 ， 即使是恋人这样令人忧伤和焦虑的沉默也是诗人所爱 。
