【「chinadaily.com.cn」in UK supported during pandemic,Students】A project designed to keep Chinese students safe from COVID-19 in the United Kingdom was launched via videoconference on Tuesday.
The project brings together more than 200 medical experts and psychologists from universities, mainly medical schools, in Shandong province to support Chinese students at more than 100 universities in the UK, the Shandong Department of Education announced.
The experts will mentor students online about how to cope — in professional, scientific ways — with challenges posed by the pandemic.
“This project is timely and important. It greatly strengthens the confidence and courage of Chinese students in the UK to stay safe and healthy,“ said Liu Xiaoming, China's ambassador to the UK, at the launching ceremony.
The project is a follow-up to the visit of a team from Shandong to the UK a week ago. It brought medical supplies and offered health information and advice to Chinese citizens in the UK, with a focus on students. The team also shared China's experience with medical officials and experts.
